Is it true that Bio-spira is no longer available? If so, where can I get the best alternative?

Q: I am about to be in the process of cycling a tank in the near future. I would like to know what would be the best alternative to Bio-spira so I can make it as fast as possible?
Also, I am going to be doing the freshwater aquarium. Not Saltwater.

Has anyone ever used Bio Spira in their Freshwater Aquarium?

A: Without any clinical trial, so to speak, any claim of "benefits" by manufacturers should be taken with a grain of salt. Personally, I put those stuff in the same category as one of those brain supplements that supposedly make us smarter.

Where can I find bio-spira in Monterey, California?

Q: I've been looking at all the major pet stores in my area, and none of them have the spira in stock. Does anyone know of a shop that carries it, or does anyone have any they're willing to sell?
